Event:Adidas Sundown Marathon 2008 Location: Changi Village Time: 12 midnight - 7am, 1st June 2008
Why was I there? I couldn't be the one running the marathon (not that fit... yet!).. so I was actually there to support my dear in his race. =) And two of my other colleagues as well.
It soon became the most 'memorable' marathon for us: I was worried when he didn't appear at the finish line, at about 3 am. As I stood waiting in the rain, scanning each runner that crossed the line, I had a feeling something was not quite right. Another girl then joined me under my umbrella as she too waited anxiously for her frens to appear. There was no sight of him until at 6.20 am when he emerged, walking slowly in the downpour, looking injured..
Sunday became a rest day.. plenty of sleep/ rest for an injured man and a sleep-deprived me. I salute my dear for not giving up halfway even though the pain was excruciating!
Next target: Shape Run (10 km) for me.. just a little first milestone for someone who does not usually run.. haha. On to bigger things next time!
