woke up with some monday blues today but i went to class feeling confident and prepared (err.. actually only up to today's lesson!). armed with handouts of my ppt lectures for distribution, i taught band theory (part of lasers / semiconductors chapter) to the usually disinterested S19.
the concept of band theory at the start of the lecture was.. err.. a little cheeem, but i'm glad i got some of them interested when i inserted this simple little question in: "why is glass transparent?" when explaining the band structure of insulators.
hayden, who has never ever asked questions in class did so today.. and my tennis kid darius, queried later.. asking why we could see the class-desks as green?
i'm glad i was able to ignite the curiosity in them today! =)
